Moses brought the 10 commandments to lead his fellow believers, the Muslims have their book called Quran, now, we give you the Decalogue of Scuba Divers to obey and live by for the rest of your diving life.
1. Thou shall check your diving gear
2. Thou shall not hold your breath
Holding thy breath when you change depth even a little may cause grave injuries resulting to lung over-expansion. Again, never hold your breath at any times. Never.
3. Thou shall respect marine life
As the highest form of animal, you shall be ashamed if you dare to hurt or even touch the creatures living underwater in their own territory.
4. Thou shall not exceed your dive limit
For you shall admit that your capabilities have a limit and resist the temptation to dive beyond. A wonderful gift such as scuba diving shall not be exhausting.
5. Thou shall have a buddy system
For two tanks are better than one. Solo diving practice might be slowly gaining acceptance but it carries great potential risks, dive with a buddy at all times.
6. Thou shall not skip safety stops
For you have to take a pause at about 15ft for a minimum of three to five minutes to fine-tune thy buoyancy before ascending in the surface.
7. Thou shall master perfect buoyancy
For there are skills you have to be a master of and this one shall be on top of your priority list.
8. Thou shall not litter
For the ocean or any coast shall not suffer for human’s thoughtless littering. Out of all the people, you know how important it is to keep the oceans safe and clean.
9. Thou shall plan your dive
10. Thou shall not forget your diving computer
For you have to keep track of your depth and duration of your dive, this accessory shall never be forgotten.
