Our Team
Ricky Koh, the founder of Deep Blue Scuba, leads the dive team comprising passionate dive
enthusiasts from all walks of life. As an ex-Guest Officer of Club Med, he is a strong believer of fun
while on vacation. We are all excited about the underwater and we are even more excited to share
our underwater experience with others. We don't just train divers, we also train dive instructors!
From Engineer to Marketing Manager, from Event Organizer to Teacher, each and almost every
instructor in Deep Blue started as an open water student and worked their way up to become a
full-fledged PADI Instructor. With Deep Blue, you will have the industry’s best. Take full advantage

Our Heritage
Deep Blue Scuba started in 1996 as a "Training centre" within another dive center in Scotts road.
Known as OutBound Divers, we were an SSI Dive Centre with 5 "freelance" instructors on roster.
In 1999 we moved to our own small unit (just 200 sqft) in Fook Hai Building.
The continual support from our customers enabled us to shift to a bigger premise in Monk's Hill
next to Newton Circle. Our stay was short and sweet as the whole “estate” was taken over by the
URA. We had a memorable wild party to end our stay.
In 2000 we expanded to a 2-unit premise at Riverside Point with 5 full-time PADI Instructors. Deep
Blue Scuba also became a PADI Dive Centre. That year, we recorded the highest turnover with
nearly 1200 people diving and learning with us.
In 2000 we were promoted to a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre; and in the following year, we achieved the
rating of PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre. In 2003, we shifted to a premise with a
salt-water pool right in front of our dive centre—at Big Splash in East Coast Park. When we were
there, we conducted discover scuba sessions and also Project Aware events with school kids using
the East Coast Beach as our classroom.
By early 2005 we were told by the landlord that the master lease is expiring, so we had to shift
again. We found a unit in town, our present home, within a stone's throw away from Clark Quay
MRT station along Hong Kong Street. Being environmentally at heart, we became an Eco-operator
in 2008.
